Barry Sadler – Net Carbon Consulting Pty Ltd
Barry Sadler has been involved in the aluminum industry for more than 25 years in a range of positions but always with a focus on carbon anode technology. He holds B.App.Sc (RMIT, 1982) and Ph.D. (Uni. Qld, 1990) degrees in metallurgy. Over the course of his career, Barry has worked at the Comalco Research Centre (CRC) in Melbourne, where he established the Carbon Technology Group, Comalco’s New Zealand Aluminum Smelter (NZAS), and Comalco Aluminum’s corporate headquarters in Brisbane, Australia.
In 2002 Barry successfully set up the independent consultancy Net Carbon Consulting Pty Ltd. In addition to co-authoring more than 20 technical papers and regularly lecturing on anode technology at various university courses, Barry has been an active member of TMS (The Minerals, Metals and Materials Society) for more than 20 years. He lives in the northern outskirts of Melbourne, in Victoria, Australia.
